Congressman Bergman’s Statement on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

Today, the House passed H.R. 36, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. I was proud to co-sponsor this bill which prohibits abortions on unborn babies 20 weeks or older. Medical evidence has overwhelmingly proven that an unborn child can feel pain by at least this point in the womb. H.R.36 is a great step towards protecting the sanctity and value of every life. As a Marine, I have always worked to protect those who are unable to defend themselves, and as your Representative in Washington, D.C., I will continue my effort to protect and defend all life.
