“Service Academy nomination applications are currently being accepted from students between the ages of 17-22 in Michigan’s First Congressional District. Applicants who are interested in attending one of our Nation’s prestigious Service Academies have until October 31st to submit an application. Students seeking nomination must meet the admission criteria set forth by the individual Academies. These criteria include, but are not limited to: academic performance, leadership skills, and physical fitness. The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. “Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four U.S. Service Academies: the U.S. Military Academy (West Point, NY); the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD); the U.S. Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO); and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY).” For more information or to request a nomination application, please visit bergman.house.gov or contact my District office at 231-944-7633 or 906-273-2227 |
