Bergman: We Must Protect Main Street, Not Wall Street
Washington,
June 8, 2017
Washington – Congressman Jack Bergman (MI-1) released the following statement today after voting in favor of H.R. 10, the Financial CHOICE Act: “This is a matter of making sure that small- and mid-sized banks, credit unions, job creators, and communities don’t suffer for Wall Street’s mistakes. Under Dodd-Frank, bad actors have thrived while smaller entities like the ones in the First District have suffered unnecessarily under cumbersome, ineffective, one-size-fits-all regulations. This legislation puts an end to what has effectively been a corporate bail-out and stops unjustly punishing institutions that have always played by the rules. The Financial CHOICE Act levels the playing field—this is about reining in Wall Street and invigorating Main Street.” ### |
