The United States Department of Transportation is re-selecting SkyWest Airlines, Inc., branded as Delta Connection (SkyWest), to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) at Escanaba, Michigan (Escanaba), with 12 nonstop round trips per week to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) using 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ200) aircraft for the two-year contract term from January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2020
Rep. Bergman has been an advocate for EAS since taking office stating that, “Airports throughout the First District depend on Essential Air Services to help them boost industry, economic stability, tourism, and mobility in the Upper Peninsula and throughout the First District.” Additionally Alpena (APN), Pellston (PLN) and Manistee (MBL) airports have received notification of renewal of EAS services until 2020. |
