Bergman Votes to Reopen Government, End Record-Long Schumer Shutdown
Washington,
November 12, 2025
Today, Rep. Jack Bergman voted to end the longest government shutdown in American history - restoring paychecks to federal employees, reopening government operations, and ensuring critical services resume for families across Michigan and the Nation.
Rep. Bergman issued the following statement: “For over 40 days, hardworking Americans were held hostage by Democrat political games. From the start, House Republicans have not only been ready to reopen the government - they never wanted it to close. Ending this shutdown brings stability to our troops, our Veterans, and our communities. It’s long past time to open the government and get back to work for the American people.” Rep. Bergman returned to Washington on Tuesday evening after celebrating the Marine Corps’ 250th Birthday in Traverse City on Monday and joining the Veterans Day ceremony in downtown Gaylord the following morning. |
