Following the House passage of the 2018 NDAA, Lt. General (Ret) and NDAA Conferee, Congressman Jack Bergman had this to say:

“Providing for the common defense of our nation is Congress’ top priority, and I’m proud to join my colleagues to pass the FY18 National Defense Authorization Act. This package will give our men and women in uniform the resources they need to successfully defend our nation and our allies. Training, maintenance, and resources are integral to the readiness of our warriors, and this is a great step towards that goal.”

The FY18 NDAA includes:

  • Providing a 2.4% pay raise to our troops;
  • Funding three additional Littoral Combat Ships, which proves thousands of jobs for Upper Peninsula residents;
  • Funding 90 F-35’s, 24 F/A 18’s, 53 Uh-60M Blackhawks, 95 Bradleys, and 85 additional Abrams Tanks;
  • Improving sexual assault prevention and response in the military;
  • Increasing our capability to defend ourselves and our allies from potential threats such as North Korea;
  • Increasing efficiencies through competition and enhancing oversight; and
  • Providing additional resources to combat ISIS in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.
