This week, Bidenflation numbers came in hotter than expected, according to the March 2024 Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The destructive policies of ‘Bidenomics’ have caused consumer prices to rise for three straight months, with March showing that inflation increased by 3.5%, the highest level in six months. · Using CPI March data, it’s estimated that the average household in Michigan is paying $948 more per month to purchase the same goods and services as in January 2021. · Overall, the average Michigan household has spent $22,638 more due to inflation since January 2021, which includes: o $146 more on food per month o $184 more on shelter per month o $109 more on energy per month o $290 more on transportation per month Inflation in the United States by the Numbers · Since January 2021, prices have increased by 18.9% o This means that the average family of four is paying an additional $16,726 per year or $1,393 per month to purchase the same goods and services as in January 2021. · Overall inflation is up 19.4% since Joe Biden took office · Americans are paying more for just about everything because of inflation since Biden took office: o Electricity is UP 29.2%. o Rent of primary residence is UP 17.2%. o Food prices are UP 21.1%. o Eggs are up 49.3% o Baby food is UP 30.5% o Sugar and sugar substitutes are up 29% o Frozen vegetables are up 28.2% o Cookies are up 26.7% o Soups are up 26.4% o Uncooked beef steaks are up 24.8% o Poultry is up 24.4% o Pet food is up 23.7% o Snacks are up 22.7% o Coffee is up 19.6% · Real average weekly wages are down 3.9% since Biden took office. · As of April 11, 2024 the gross national debt is more than $34 trillion.
