Washington - This week, Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI) detailed the failings of the Biden Administration leading up to the heinous attacks on our ally, Israel, in a radio interview. From the $6 Billion “bad business deal” of prisoner exchange funds for Iran, to the feckless non-response from the White House when confronted with Qatar’s insidious money-funneling, Rep. Bergman chastised the Administration for their dereliction of duty.

Bergman explained, “The message that Iran and Hamas basically sent, and have always sent, is ‘it’s our way or the highway’. They don’t recognize Israel…and the hatred there drives the message.” He also underscored an element of this crisis that is being largely overlooked by the media, but is still a key aspect of our bureaucratic enabling of Iran and Hamas:

“The Biden Administration has allowed Qatar to play kind of a behind-the-scenes middleman role on the banking and all of the transfer of funds – that $6 Billion – and there is worse than nefarious activity on the part of the Qatari banks…thanks to the Biden Administration’s spineless approach to a tough situation that can affect the entire world, especially now with entities like China and Russia looking on to see what’s happening.”

In denouncing the antisemitic rhetoric from some in Congress, Rep. Bergman asserted that those in the House of Representatives who choose to be mouthpieces for agents of this violence shouldn’t be elected, as everyone who serves in Congress must put the best interests of the American People first. Moreover, he concluded, “We as the United States need to do two things: prepare for our own defense and number two – to help the defense of others who are our allies who are at risk of a closer threat, as we’re seeing in Israel right now.”
