Bergman Fights to Bring Accountability to Biden Administration

Representative Jack Bergman (MI-01) joined with fellow Republicans in moving to do away with the outdated COVID-19 public health emergency declarations, keeping his promise to hold President Biden and his bloated bureaucracy accountable.

In response to House Republicans’ oversight, President Biden has finally announced an impending end to the government over-expansion he created through those emergencies.

"Thanks to Republican leadership, President Biden has been forced to reckon with the reality of his overreach into American lives. It’s past time for the President to scale back the bureaucratic tentacles that have been overzealous and served to grow the scope of government. I will continue working with my colleagues to keep the Biden Administration’s feet to the fire and ensure transparency and accountability on behalf of the American people,” Rep. Bergman stated.

House Republicans announced on January 27th that they would vote to end the public health and national emergencies for COVID-19. On January 30th, President Biden then informed Congress that he would be ending the COVID-19 public health emergency and COVID-19 national emergency, effective May 11, 2023.
