WASHINGTON – Rep. Jack Bergman (MI-1) released the following statement after voting in favor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act (H.R. 7): “Our Declaration of Independence describes three fundamental rights, and the first of those is the right to life. Every living thing on this earth has something in common: the will to keep on living. The unborn are no different. It’s our responsibility, not as Members of Congress but as human beings, to act as advocates for the most vulnerable among us. Who is more vulnerable than the unborn? This legislation aims to end the practice of funding on-demand abortion with taxpayer dollars. As a father and a grandfather of 8 beautiful grandchildren, I’m proud to support this bill and I'm proud to support life.” ### |
