Bergman Statement Following Biden's State of the Union Address

After President Biden's State of the Union address, Rep. Jack Bergman issued the following statement:

“President Biden’s likely final State of the Union address to Congress was entirely disconnected from the actual State of our Union.

“Our border is in total crisis, our economy is on the brink of disaster, and there is unrest around the globe with no leadership from the President. Wages are stagnating, inflation continues to rise, and jobs and businesses are being shuttered. We must not lose hope – America is still the greatest Nation in the history of the world and Americans are resilient. There are brighter days ahead and we will not stop fighting for the values we hold dear.

“Throughout his speech, Biden highlighted some of the problems we are facing but failed to mention how much of that is a direct result of his Administration’s failure to put America First.

“Just over a year ago following his State of the Union I noted that ‘It’s time President Biden set aside his demeaning partisanship and fight for the prosperity and future of our Republic.’ Unfortunately, he refused to do that again tonight. We deserve better.”
